Get Healthier Skin

A Daily Plan for Getting Healthier Skin

A majority of women don’t take skincare seriously until it is too late. Once you start to see wrinkles, there really isn’t a good way to slow down the aging process. The time to begin a skincare regime is when you are in your teens or early twenties. Learn the proper way to cleanse, tone, exfoliate and moisturize your skin. Once you get into the habit, your skin will look much healthier, and you’ll feel and look great.

Step One- Cleanse

Remove impurities from your skin such as makeup and dirt that can clog your pores. Cleanse a minimum of two times a day with a mild cleanser that won’t irritate your skin. The cleanser must not strip your skin of natural oils, and also it must rinse away easily.

Choose the right cleanser for your skin type. Look for one that gets rid of dirt and makeup without leaving behind a residue. This means that you shouldn’t cleanse your skin with soap because it is acidic, and soap is alkaline. This makes it harder for the skin’s protective film to do its job.

A cleanser with an oil base works fine for all types of skin. Cream cleansers work well with dry skin to dissolve dirt and makeup. Just wipe off the cream with a tissue. If you choose a wash off cleanser, apply it to damp skin and take it off with warm water.

Step Two-Tone

A toner works to cool, nourish, rehydrate and refresh your skin. It gets rid of any impurities that your cleanser leaves behind. Purchase toners that don’t contain alcohol because alcohol tends to dry out skin.

Step Three-Exfoliate

Exfoliants work to remove dead skin cells so that your skin glows and looks healthy. They get rid of patchy spots that make skin look yellow and unhealthy. When purchasing a new exfoliant, ensure that it does not contain granules that damage new skin layers. There are different types of exfoliants that range from face cloths to serums that contain AHAs.

Step Four-Moisturize

Hydrate your skin and give it plenty of nutrients. Use a moisturizer with sunscreen every day. At night, use a heavier moisturizer that rebalances and normalizes your skin during the night.

There’s nothing that requires moisturizing your entire face. Some people just need eye cream and a cheek moisturizer.

Skin contains natural moisturizers that regulate the flow of water from the dermis to the skin surface. Sebum also forms a barrier that stops skin from drying out. As we age, this type of natural activity decreases. This is why you need to moisturize more as you get older. Remember to moisturize at least two times each day.

Also, keep in mind that your skin regime should work for your skin type. Oily skin requires oil-free formulas. Dry to normal skin needs water in these formulations. Remember to spray water on your skin before putting on moisturizer. This tends to plump up the skin cells, which creates an even surface and make wrinkles less noticeable.
